China Global Television Network (CGTN) recently featured the modern agriculture greenhouse project in Egypt, constructed by China National Machinery Industry Corporation. The report, titled "Chinese companies in Egypt on the Belt and Road," detailed the advanced experience brought by the Chinese company's total contracting of the project, covering its scale, organization, shipping, and construction. As the largest greenhouse project in the world undertaken by a Chinese company in Egypt, it has successfully applied China's best products and technologies, achieving the historic task of "agriculture going global." This has greatly combined the interests of Chinese companies, the Egyptian government, and local people.
The project has received widespread attention from mainstream media since its construction began. CGTN's special report further affirmed the project's achievements in safety and quality, environmental protection, and construction progress. JUDIN® Company is especially proud to have supplied the shading system support line for the entire 600-ton project. JUDIN® company completed the entire project's greenhouse support line with high quality and quantity, contributing to Egypt's highly self-sufficient agriculture. Meanwhile, JUDIN® Company is also proud to participate in the construction of the world's largest greenhouse project.
Egyptian State Television also produced a special feature, focusing on the modern agriculture greenhouse project in Egypt contracted by Chinese companies. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi highly praised the project's contributions to local employment, economic improvement, and the development of supporting industries for greenhouse fruit and vegetable planting. He also expressed his appreciation for the high-standard execution of the project by the main contractors, led by Chinese companies.
According to Li Xiaohong, Assistant General Manager of China National Machinery Industry Corporation, a Spanish company is responsible for providing vegetable seeds and market promotion, while China provides materials such as steel and technical support for greenhouse construction. The project is located near the Nile River, ensuring a stable water source. Additionally, the soil quality and temperature are suitable for greenhouse planting, resulting in good vegetable quality. The greenhouse project will significantly increase Egypt's vegetable output and help stabilize vegetable prices. The project includes 7,100 greenhouses and can provide at least 75,000 job opportunities. It will also help save irrigation water and increase yield per unit area.
The project is part of Egypt's goal to invest in serious acreages of protected horticulture, with the National Company for Protective Cultivations (NCPC) established in 2017. The project includes high-tech and mid-tech greenhouses, as well as a net greenhouse, which will be used to export crops to the Middle East and Europe. With all these investments, Egypt aims to serve different markets at different times during the season, making it one of the most significant agricultural greenhouse projects in the world.
